This Privacy Policy explains how StrongApps handles information in connection with Branching Haptics.
Branching Haptics is a virtual reality clinical training app for healthcare education. It uses immersive video, branching decisions, and supported bHaptics devices to support training scenarios.
Information We Collect
Branching Haptics does not require users to create an account in the app.
The app is designed to run primarily on the headset and does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, patient records, student records, health records, payment information, or precise location information from users.
The app may store limited information locally on the headset, including:
- A configured content server URL, if an operator enters one
- Cached training content, such as manifests, thumbnails, videos, or branching graph files
- App settings needed to keep the selected content source working between launches
The app may access bHaptics device connection information through the bHaptics SDK so it can determine whether supported haptic devices are connected and play haptic feedback during training. This information is used for app functionality.
Remote Content
Branching Haptics may be configured by an operator to load training content from a remote content server. When this feature is used, the headset contacts the configured server to request content files such as base.json, thumbnails, graph files, and video files.
The operator or organization controlling that content server may receive standard technical request information, such as IP address, request time, requested file path, and server logs. StrongApps does not control third-party or organization-managed content servers unless StrongApps is operating that server.
Analytics, Ads, and Purchases
- Branching Haptics does not use in-app advertising.
- Branching Haptics does not sell user data.
- Branching Haptics does not include in-app purchases.
- Unity analytics, Unity ads, Unity purchasing, and Unity cloud diagnostics are disabled in the current project configuration.
Third-Party Services
Branching Haptics may rely on platform and device services, including:
- Meta Quest platform services for app installation, entitlement, headset operation, and store distribution
- Unity runtime components used to run the application
- bHaptics SDK components used for supported haptic device connectivity and feedback
These services may process information according to their own privacy policies.
How We Use Information
Information handled by the app is used to:
- Load and display training experiences
- Cache content for app performance and availability
- Remember an operator-configured content source
- Detect supported bHaptics devices
- Play haptic feedback during training
- Troubleshoot app issues when a user contacts support
Data Sharing
StrongApps does not sell user information.
StrongApps does not share personal information collected through the app for advertising.
StrongApps may review information voluntarily provided in support emails or issue reports in order to troubleshoot and respond to support requests.
Data Retention
Local app settings and cached content may remain on the headset until the user clears app data, uninstalls the app, resets the configured content source, or removes cached files through normal device management.
Support emails and related correspondence may be retained as needed to respond to requests, maintain records, and improve the app.
Children's Privacy
Branching Haptics is intended for supervised education and training environments. It is not directed to children under 13. Do not use the app to submit personal information from children to StrongApps.
Medical Disclaimer
Branching Haptics is for education and training only. It is not a medical device and does not provide diagnosis, treatment, clinical decision support, or medical advice.
Your Choices
You can:
- Use the app without entering a remote content server URL
- Reset the configured content source to the bundled default content
- Uninstall the app to remove local app data from the headset
